A Wrinkle in Silver

The day is soon. In just about two weeks, I’ll doing my marathon for Extra Life. Well, two days of 12 hours each. Fortunately there are no hard rules about how you choose to do the 24 hours, just that you do it. And I’m going to do it!

On the first day, November 3rd, I will be over at MeltingTop Games over in Lynnwood, WA. We’re going to be playing board games from 12pm to Midnight. And here’s a schedule! Well, until it changes but these are the games we’ll probably be playing.

We will be doing a cheat jar at each table. There will be a list of possible cheats for each game. Donate $1 to cheat and that will go into the jar. Who ever wins that game will be able to get a discount up to number of dollars put in as a percentage. For example, if $5 is put in for a game, then the winner will get a 5% discount on a game purchase at MeltingTop! Win multiple times and you can get multiple discounts! All cheat donations will go directly to Seattle Children’s via Extra Life.  Get more details over at the Facebook event.

Of course, you don’t have to play to donate. You can just simply donate. And it’s not too late to join the cause! The national day is on November 3rd but you can do it any time. Join and do your best to raise money for your chosen hospital.

Wait, you might say. What about November 4th? I’ll be playing video and/or computer games at home! I haven’t nailed down all the games yet but I think it will include the following games (in no particular order):

• Beat Saber (VR)
• No Man’s Sky (PS4)
• Soul Calibur 6 (PS4)
• Stardew Valley (PC)

These fun games will be starting at 9 am and I’ll be doing my best to stream it all on my Twitch channel. I’ll be doing in-stream incentives, as well, including the following:

• $5 Bean Boozled Jelly Bean Challenge
• $10 Temporary Tattoo
• $15 Say one word for 5 minutes
• $20 Karaoke time!
• $40 All of the above
• $50 All of the above + Get a postcard from me!

All these donations help out my overall goals this year:

• $11,000: Lip-sync video – ACHIEVED!!
• $12,000: Go for blue hair – ACHIEVED!!!
• $13,000: Go for pink and blue hair
• $14,000: 30 day Just Dance Challenge, 30 mins a day for 30 days straight
• $15,000: Add additional Extra Life themed tattoo (in Japan)

This year has been astounding! And even if you factor our the big win from Extra Life United, you all have already donated more than last year! Everything is tending to the kids at Seattle Children’s getting the help they need.

So that’s my Extra Life plan this year. It ain’t no big deal. What is a big deal is the kids at Seattle Children’s getting the best chance they can for a healthy life.
